Welcome to Wednesday

Hello Everyone,

It is in the air; CAN YOU FEEL IT? First Volleyball Day in Nebraska and then the start of the 2023 Football Season.  Naturally, my thoughts for today center around this glorious time of year . . .

FOOTBALL

Thoughts

It’s here; it’s that time of year – week zero for the college football season; NFL pre-season games are over and the regular season is just around the corner. Of all the seasons, the season of FOOTBALL is my favorite! So before it all starts and we have to get serious, let’s take some time to enjoy the ‘lighter’ side of football.

American football evolved in the United States, originating from the sports of soccer and rugby. The first American football match was played on November 6, 1869, between Rutgers and Princeton, using rules based on the rules of soccer at the time. Walter Camp is credited with altering the rules of rugby to create the game of modern North American football we are familiar with today.

Here are some football trivia questions (college and NFL) to test your knowledge and love of the game:

  1. What does FBS stand for?
  2. Which team has the highest total of wins in the FBS?
  3. Which team has been to the most bowl games?
  4. Which team has won the most overall conference championships?
  5. What college football team has the largest fan base?
  6. What NFL teams have never moved cities?
  7. What NFL teams have never moved cities?
  8. How many teams are there in the NFL?
  9. What NFL team is the only one to ever have a perfect season?
  10. Who played in NFL’s longest game ever

Whatever your preference, college or NFL, and no matter your favorite team remember the words of Vince Lombardi, “Football is like life – it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority.”
