A New Season

I greatly enjoy the movie “Bruce Almighty.” The comedy of Jim Carrey or the superb acting of Morgan Freeman aside, the movie also has a number of good messages. One of these is given by Morgan Freeman after Jim Carrey’s antics cause mass chaos: every mess can be cleaned up with enough effort.
I feel the same way about football. Any given Sunday, any given season, mistakes can be made, players are injured, playbooks are revealed to be defective. Perhaps a draft pick was a bust or a veteran no longer fits the scheme. Perhaps a new coach with a new philosophy is needed. And during the offseason all of this can be addressed, the team can be retooled, coaching philosophies can be adapted to new realities. Each new season is an opportunity to bring a solid team together and put forth a game that the fan can enjoy.
This can be true for your estate plan. You might have put together your own will when your situation was simple but now you have a family and assets that should be protected. You might have a child and want to start building generational wealth. Your attorney, while well meaning, might not be an expert in the field of estate planning. In the worst-case scenario, a loved one might have passed with an estate plan that simply does not accomplish what was intended.
All of which can be cleaned up.
You are not locked into your estate plan and you have to realize that with a changing situation, your plan should change. The Vandenack Weaver team prides itself on keeping their finger on the pulse of changes in the law and always check in with clients to ensure that their estate plan accomplishes what the client’s intentions are. And we truly operate as a team under the philosophy of pursuing excellence.
It is the start of a new season. Make sure that you have the best possible plan with the team that is right for you. The Vandenack Weaver team stands ready.
Another benefit of having a family office is that it can provide you with a high level of privacy and security. A family office can help you to keep your financial affairs private and protect your assets from potential legal and financial threats.
If you’re interested in setting up a family office, it’s a good idea to speak with a financial advisor or attorney who can help you understand the process and guide you through it.
